Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic assistance program that utilizes peer-assisted collaboration, group study, and interaction for assisting students in undertaking "traditionally difficult" courses. Students meet with their SI Leader after every class lecture to review course material through the use of a variety of study techniques.

How do the SI sessions help students?

Students have the opportunity to become actively involved in the course material because SI leaders use creative learning techniques to reinforce the text, supplementary readings, and lecture notes. Sessions also cover study strategies such as note taking, graphic organization, questioning techniques, vocabulary acquisition, and test preparation.
