Aviation

Through the use of models and simulators, participants in the aviation camp will learn about the theory of flight, airplanes, control surfaces, and engines. Students will take a field trip to the McAllen Airport for a "Hangar Hangout." The "Hangout" will give students the opportunity to meet with a Federal Aviation Association Certified Instructor. Sewing

This camp introduces participants to the basics of sewing. Participants will learn the parts of a sewing machine and how to set it up. Participants will then create small projects that will help them get comfortable with using a sewing machine. Additionally, participants will learn how to use a needle to stitch by hand. Application Required.

Cyberpatriot

Students will be exposed to cybersecurity concepts including working with Windows 10, Linux, Unbuntu 16, virtual machines, basic graphical user interface security, and basic command line security. On the last day of camp, students will compete in a mini cyberpatriot competition.

Introduction to Game Development

The primary goal of this program is to bring the fun and exciting world of creating and developing games to students. The activities are designed to benefit 7th through 10th grade students pursuing careers in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering. The primary goal of this camp is to teach advanced Android mobile app developer skills to in 8th through 10th grade students planning to pursue careers in Computer Science and Engineering. This camp will help students create a simple Android mobile app based on their own idea. Participants must complete Part 1 in order to register for Part 2.
