The South Texas College Library is committed to providing a welcoming, learning-centered environment, rich in quality information resources and outstanding services to meet the research, instructional and learning needs of the South Texas College students, faculty, staff and community. Services can be accessed online through the Library website.

Learning Commons & Open Labs

The Learning Commons and Open Labs provide open computer labs, self-service labs, and makerspaces to support the academic needs of students.

Services include:

  • Specialized software
  • Blackboard support
  • 3D printing to support class projects

Tutoring

Centers for Learning Excellence

The CLE offers many services to help students succeed, including online and in-person tutoring and writing support, which are free to all STC students.

Visit the CLE website for tutoring, writing support, academic coaching, supplemental instruction, workshops and more.

DegreeWorks

DegreeWorks is an online tool with real-time advice and counsel about your academic goals. DegreeWorks can speed up your time to graduation, helping you stick to your degree plan, plus streamline the graduation process.

You’ll get access to registration related services, links to catalog information, and class availability for the upcoming term.

DegreeWorks is available in JagNet.

Starfish

STC cares about your success and Starfish can help. Starfish is a system to let your instructors know when you need help. Or faculty can notify you if your grades or academics are at risk. Use Starfish to view your success network, see your instructor’s office hours, and find other college resources available to you.

You may receive emails and text messages from Starfish about your course grades or academic performance. Please pay attention to these notices and take the recommended actions to reach your goals.

 

Academic Advising

Academic Advising from professional advisors help you with your educational goals and to help you understand what it takes to meet those goals. Meet with your advisor on a regular basis to monitor your progress and review your degree plan.

Guided Pathways Specialists

Once you have completed 30 or more credit hours, Guided Pathways Specialists will help you navigate the rest of your path at STC.

Counseling and Student Accessibility Services

Counseling and Student Accessibility Services offers counseling in a confidential atmosphere where the student may discuss concerns that are important to their educational and personal success. This includes personal, mental health, or academic needs.

Visit the Counseling website to schedule counseling services, or request accessibility services or accommodations.

Digital Learning

South Texas College Online offers flexible and convenient online learning to complete your education anytime, anywhere.

Online coursework may be completed anywhere you have internet access, while some instructors require students to take proctored exams.

With South Texas College Online Campus, you can get a quality education from the comfort of your home or office. It’s the smart choice in today’s busy world.
