Turkey Trot Run/Walk
Since 2005, the South Texas College Kinesiology Department has hosted the Turkey Trot 2.2-mile walk/run. The purpose of the event is to foster community engagement and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle, while also providing support to those in need during the holiday season. Over a 16-year period, over 20,000 pounds of non-perishable food items were collected and donated to the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank. As of 2021, food items are no longer accepted, and a monetary donation was implemented in support of the South Texas College Food Pantry.
