ESL - English as a Second Language & Spanish

English as a Second Language is an intensive language program designed to provide non-english speakers with everything from basic pronunciation to advanced writing and workplace communication.

Beginning Level, Sections 1 - 4

Length: 40 hours each section

The Beginner level has 4 parts, each section is 40 hours. These courses are designed to be repeated with varying content. Skill development in pronunciation and use of job-related vocabulary. Includes non-verbal communication techniques. Student will require book for this level, one book covers all sections.

Intermediate Level, Sections 1 - 4

Length: 40 hours each section

The Intermediate level have 4 parts, each section is 40 hours. This level will address essential listening, speaking, reading, writing, and computational skills required by business and industry. Improvement of communication skills related to successful job performance. Student will require book for this level, one book covers all sections.

Advanced Level, Sections 1 - 4

Length: 40 hours each section

The Advanced level has 4 parts, each section is 40 hours. These courses will cover critical factors of effective communication used in the workplace including managing interpersonal conflict. Student will require book for this level, one book covers all sections.

High-Advanced Level, Sections 1 - 4

Length: 40 hours each section

The Hi-Advanced level has 4 parts, each section is 40 hours. These courses focus on the principles of communication to facilitate sending and receiving messages in the workplace. Identify personality types; describe elements of communication; demonstrate communication skills; and compare and contrast effective and ineffective communication. Student will require book for this level, one book covers all sections.

Passages, Sections 1 - 4

Length: 40 hours each section

The course emphasizes using Standard English grammar in writing paragraphs and short compositions. Students work on developing effective simple, compound and complex sentences. Students write descriptions, narrations, and paragraphs in which they give reasons for their opinions. They will then move on to short, multi-paragraph compositions. Student will require book for this level, one book covers all sections.

Conversation Classes

Length: 40 hours

This is a speaking course using presentation techniques for presenting ideas and information to business and industry including the use of visual aids.

TOEFL Preparation

Length: 40 hours

This course is designed to help you improve your score on the TOEFL, using academic language skills and test taking strategies. The class will practice for specific sections of the test.
