AI Tools Ensuring Safe Use of Artificial Intelligence

New AI tools are released daily. At South Texas College, the Information Technology and Information Security departments are committed to evaluating generative artificial intelligence tools to ensure that AI technologies conform to established IT standards, specifically those pertaining to security, data privacy and infrastructure compatibility.

The Information Technology and Information Security departments aim to ensure the tools that are reviewed are safe for members of the STC community to use.

AI Tool Review Process

  1. Submission: Email your AI tool requests to: isphelp@southtexascollege.edu.
  2. Initial Assessment: The IT and InfoSec departments evaluate the basic criteria of the AI tool.
  3. Detailed Evaluation: A comprehensive analysis of security, functionality, and impact is conducted.
  4. Feedback and Approval: Feedback is provided, and tools that meet security and data privacy standards are approved.
