Division of Institutional Advancement and External Affairs

The division of the Institutional Advancement and External Affairs is responsible for the approach of supporting existing divisions and IAEA in building strategic alliances, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities that further the mission and vision of the College. This Division leads all areas of the Institutional Advancement and External Affairs including, Resource Development, Management and Compliance, Industry Training and Economic Development, and the Regional Center for Public Safety Excellence.

Resource Development, Management and Compliance

Resource Development, Management, and Compliance promotes collaboration with other colleges and universities and fosters partnerships on an ongoing basis with local school districts to develop grant proposal that will enhance educational opportunities.

Regional Center for Public Safety Excellence

Regional Center for Public Safety Excellence (RCPSE) will make South Texas College the first border community college in the nation to establish integrative training for local, state, and federal professionals in public safety and homeland security (In Development) along the US/Mexico border. Current and prospective agents or officers will be exposed to real-world scenarios by professionals with experience on the front lines of border security.

Industry Training and Economic Development

Industry Training and Economic Development is committed to fostering long-term sustained economic growth in Hidalgo and Starr counties by serving industry sectors such as manufacturing, petrochemical, construction, logistics/transportation, and food and beverage processing. ITED provides training to new and incumbent workers in these sectors through the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing.
