The Business program includes the following courses:

Customer Service Skills

Length: 7 hrs

Prepares you for entry-level jobs as Customer Service Representatives. Topics include defining customer service, communication skills, phone etiquette, handling challenging customers, selling skills, time management and organizational skills, and stress management.

Employability Skills

Length: 40 hrs

Prepares you with the skills needed for the workforce. Topics include customer service; phone etiquette; work ethics, responsibilities, and fraud prevention; time management and organizational skills; taking ownership and optimizing productivity; stress management; team building; problem solving and conflict resolution; English and Spanish communication skills; goal setting; critical thinking, judgment, and decision making; resume writing; interviewing skills; computer and office technology skills; and workplace mathematics.

Frontline Supervisor

Length: 12 hrs

Prepares you with the confidence and skills needed to be a supervisor. Topics include transitioning to supervision, goal setting, supervisors and employees, the roles of a supervisor, and team building.

Leadership Skills

Length: Level 1, 2, 3 : 24 hrs/level  

Prepares you with the leadership skills needed take a team and organization to the next level.
Level 1 topics include intro to supervision, leadership, HR laws, communication, evaluations, goal setting, conflict resolution, and understanding the budget process.
Level 2 topics include effective leadership, ethics and compliance, HR issues, communications and team building, time management and delegation, performance management and coaching, strategic goal setting, and developing budgets.
Level 3 topics include leading change through strategic leadership, regulations and compliance, strategic planning, recruitment and retention, community and civic engagement, career development and employee relations, innovation and entrepreneurship, and mastering and optimizing budgets.

Professional in Human Resources

Length:   

Prepares you for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) examinations. Topics include business management and strategy, workforce planning and employment, human resource development, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, and risk management.
