Welcome to Microsoft Copilot.

Your everyday AI companion.

Microsoft 365 Copilot is an advanced AI assistant designed to enhance productivity and streamline tasks.

NEW: STC departments may now purchase Copilot licenses for employees.
Please contact the Service Desk for information on paid user licenses.

Copilot Chat

Your college Microsoft 365 account already includes Copilot Chat, available at no additional cost. This web-based AI chat includes the latest large language models and security.

Copilot services match your own permissions – it can only analyze the STC data where you already have access, and won’t share your data outside of STC’s Microsoft environment.

Get More with a Copilot License

When you add a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot license, Copilot Chat becomes more powerful by drawing on your own STC data and tools in the Microsoft 365 system. Users with a paid license get additional features with Copilot directly integrated with your favorite office apps.

What can Copilot do?

  1. Information Retrieval: Quickly find and summarize information from the web, documents, and databases.
  2. Task Automation: Automate repetitive tasks such as scheduling meetings, setting reminders for homework due dates, sending emails, and generating reports.
  3. Content Creation: Assist in drafting emails, creating outlines, creating presentations, and writing documents.
  4. Data Analysis: Help analyze data, create charts, and generate insights from datasets.
  5. Support and Guidance: Provide step-by-step instructions for software tools, quiz yourself on difficult topics, and troubleshoot common issues.

How to Use Copilot

  1. Log in at microsoft365.com/chat/ using your STC account (not a personal Microsoft account).
  2. Ask Questions: Simply type your question or request in the chat interface. For example, “Can you summarize the latest research on renewable energy?” or “Schedule a meeting with the department heads next Tuesday.”
  3. Provide Context: The more context you provide, the better Copilot can assist you. For instance, “Draft an email to the faculty about the upcoming seminar on AI in education.”
  4. Explore Features: Experiment with different types of requests to discover the full range of Copilot’s capabilities. Try asking for data analysis, content creation, or task automation.
  5. Stay Updated: Copilot continuously learns and updates its knowledge base. Check for new features and improvements regularly.

We encourage you to explore and integrate Copilot into your daily workflow to enhance productivity and efficiency. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to our IT Service Desk.
