The Child Development Center offers high-quality early care and educational programs for the children of our community. Children who participate in our program will develop stronger academic success, increased self confidence and improved self-regulation. Our center is designed to meet the needs of the whole child.

Located on STC’s Mid‑Valley Campus in Weslaco, the Child Development Center is staffed by experienced and educated Early Childhood professionals and STC students who bring diverse educational backgrounds to the classroom. Our model program prepares students for careers in early childhood education while building strong partnerships with families to support each child’s growth and development.

Our curriculum creates a stimulating learning environment filled with engaging, developmentally appropriate activities tailored to each child’s needs. Children have continuous access to a wide range of learning areas - including sand and water exploration, block building, music and movement, outdoor play, technology, construction, art, dramatic play, library, science, math and language - encouraging discovery, creativity and growth throughout the day.

Ages Served: The Center provides services for children 6 weeks to 5 years 11 months old. School-aged children up to 12 years of age will be cared for during the summer session.

  2. Fill out an application
  3. If a slot is available, pay fees in advance of service. If a slot is not available, you can be placed on a waiting list.
