6. BUDGETING TIME

There is only so much time available in a day. Careful budgeting of time, and that means good planning, will not only help you achieve higher grades, but will also allow you to have a satisfying social life while earning those high grades.

Remember -- even part-time students are full-time in the classes they are enrolled in. There are no part-time classes!
As a "rule-of-thumb" you need to study at least 2-3 hours per credit hour per week outside of the class, i.e., in a 4 credit hours biology class you should study a minimum of 8 hours per week outside of class (a little more than an hour per day). Some students may have to spend more time, some students perhaps less. The exact time you should budget will depend on your ability to learn, your knowledge already accumulated in the subject, and what grade you'd like to earn.

here to see what STCC Math Instructor Merrie Van Loy thinks about this.

"You will never find time for anything.
If you want time you must make it."
-- Charles Burton
