3. DEDICATION

You chose to come to college. You are not
required to be here, so make the best of it! Students just out of high
school frequently do not know what their career goals are or what subject may interest
them the most. That is understandable and expected.

However, if you'd prefer to be partying or working for money, then quit. Don't stay in college wasting your time and money, and distracting others.

You must be dedicated to the life of a college student - be determined to earn a degree that is a sound basis for a career, and starting right now be successful.

There is no question that social life and developing relationships is of profound importance, but use good judgement about when to socialize. Do NOT expect to socialize during class time. It is rude and inconsiderate, not only to your instructors, but also to your fellow students. Do not be a distraction by carrying on private conversations with a potential date or your friends, while others are attempting to concentrate on the lecture or lab, and making progress towards a career goal.

SO, you have the right attitude, and you are dedicated. Next page discusses the importance of knowing the course requirements. To continue please click "NEXT".
