Ramiro R. Casso, M.D.

Dr. Casso is a founding member of the Valley Scholars Program at South Texas College and a long time supporter of education. In 1996, Dr. Ramiro Casso along with Dr. Michael Metke established the Valley Scholars (scholarship) Program. Dr. Casso single-handedly took on the responsibility to raise over $100,000 to support the first class of over 40 students.

Since its creation, over 400 students have benefited from this program and now the Valley Scholars Program is preparing to admit the tenth class of scholars. The Valley is a brighter place because Dr. Casso had the vision and energy to start the Valley Scholars Programs.
