STC announces annual playwriting festival
|
The deadline for entering the South Texas College Drama Department’s eighth annual Spring Play Festival is Dec. 15, 2007. Entries for unpublished, original, unproduced scripts or works that can be dramatized must be received or postmarked the deadline date. “Any short piece, scene or literary work capable of being dramatized is acceptable,” said Jean Daniels, STC drama instructor. “We encourage all community members and STC students and staff to submit their work.” Submissions of 15 pages or less must be typed, legible and bound. Send submission (no more than two per author) with a letter containing author’s name, address and telephone number to Jean Daniels; STC Speech and Drama Department; P.O. Box 9701; McAllen, Texas 78502-9701. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want your work returned. Judging will take place during December with award announcements made shortly after the new year. Dates and times of the performances will be announced at that time. STC drama students will direct and perform the work of the two finalists. For more information, call 872-2503. |
