William Serrata Named Vice President for Student Services and Development for STC

After an extensive national candidate search, South Texas College has today named William Serrata as vice president for student services and development. The advisory screening committee reviewed the credentials of 28 candidates and selected six finalists for thorough review. Background and reference checks were completed on the six finalists and two candidates were invited for on-campus interviews. Extensive screening and open participatory sessions were held at all STC campuses and centers prior to the unanimous recommendation of Serrata for the position.

"I have been overwhelmed by the support of my colleagues during this review process and am thrilled to have been selected as the choice for this important position at STC," said Serrata. "STC is a unique institution offering opportunities to all citizens of our community and I hope that through my efforts, more and more students will begin their higher education at our college and realize their full potential. I thank the faculty, staff, administration and board for the responsibility they have entrusted with me and I can promise to work to my full potential to provide top quality service and support to all new and existing students of the college.
