STC to host College for Professionals Open House on August 5th
STC's will be hosting an open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat., August 5, 2006 at its Pecan Campus to help answer questions about its "College for Professionals" program which helps students earn an associate's degree in just four semesters by attending classes in the evenings, on weekends and via the Internet. The event will take place in the STC Student Services Building located off 29th Street and Pecan Street in McAllen, TX. "We will be available to answer student questions and help them understand how the program works," said Anahid Petrosian, assistant to the vice president of instructional services for STC. "Several instructors will be on hand to talk about the courses and the support systems in place to help students through their studies. We will also have staff on hand to help students register and answer any questions they have about tuition, fees and to pay for their registration." Financial aid, admissions, counseling and advising offices, as well as cahiers will be on hand to guide students through the registration process for the fall semester. "In today's economy it can be difficult for people to sustain themselves financially while attending school during the day, so we have come up with the College for Professionals program to eliminate that barrier and provide flexible schedules for our students to earn their degrees," added Petrosian . "We are already seeing great interest in the program and we hope interested students will come in and register now to get in the classes they want for the fall."
