AEP donates $4,000 to Valley Scholars Program
American Electric Power continued its support of STC with a generous $4,000 donation presented to the Valley Scholars Program. AEP has also supported STC through contributions to the Information Technology program.
The Valley Scholars Program was initiated at South Texas College (STC) in 1997 to provide financial support, encouragement, mentoring and campus-based work to Hidalgo and Starr County high school graduates who have distinguished themselves by being in the top ten percent of their graduating class. Students in the program are sponsored by local benefactors for all tuition and fees at STC.
Since its inception, the Valley Scholars Program has helped more than 400 high school graduates start their college education.
