College Goal Sunday brings access to money for college
Education after high school costs time, money and effort. It’s a big investment and you should carefully evaluate how you will finance your education. Federal financial aid can help you pay for college whether you are a recent high school graduate or an adult learner looking to pursue a new career. On Sunday, Feb. 12, College Goal Sunday at the South Texas College Pecan Campus will help you and your family gain access to billions in federal funds available for college. College Goal Sunday will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the cafeteria in Building H of the STC Pecan Campus located at 3201 West Pecan Blvd. in McAllen.
Across the country, College Goal Sunday will connect students with financial assistance for school. In fact, last year college students received over $72 billion in money from the federal government to pay for school.
At the College Goal Sunday event, STC financial aid representatives will be on hand to help you through the financial aid application completion process and answer any questions you may have regarding financing your education. Computer labs are also available to allow students to apply for financial aid online. You may apply on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov Remember to request your PIN number at www.pin.ed.gov
If you want to apply for financial aid to attend college during the summer 2006 sessions, just bring your 2004 Federal Tax Return to College Goal Sunday. To apply for financial aid for the fall 2006 and spring 2007 semesters, bring your 2005 Income Tax Return.
College Goal Sunday is a national initiative developed to overcome one of the main barriers to higher education-high costs.
