STC Technology Center to host Pachanga and open house on August 10th
South Texas College's Technology Center, located at 3700 W. Military Hwy. in McAllen, will be hosting a Pachanga and open house from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006. The event will include live music, free food, technology demonstrations, prize giveaways and facility tours. Additionally, each attendee will be given a free STC sport pack. Instructors will be on hand to help answer questions about the programs offered at the Technology Center, including Automotive Technology; Business Administration; Business Computer Systems; Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD); Computer Science; Diesel Technology; Electronics and Computer Maintenance Technology; Engineering; Environmental Management; Heating, Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (HVACR); Import/Export Logistics; and Precision Manufacturing. "These programs, many of which can be completed in just one year, prepare students for promising, cutting edge jobs that are in demand and well paid. The future of our economic and workforce development in the Rio Grande Valley rests with these types of programs offered at STC's Technology Center," said Mario Reyna, Division Dean of Business, Math, Science and Technology for STC. ""Also, this is going to be a fun opportunity for students to enjoy the live music and free food while learning about new career opportunities and seeing our state-of-the-art facilities first hand. I hope everyone in the community will consider coming by to join in the activities and see what the STC Technology Center has to offer."
