STC Ford MLR Program prepares the automotive technicians of the future
Every year thousands of vehicles are sold throughout the world adding a great need for trained professionals in vehicle repairs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics job opportunities for automotive technicians are expected to remain plentiful, especially for those with formal training. |

"We have identified this demand and are working hard to make sure that the Valley is getting prepared with qualified technicians," commented Rodrigo Garcia, instructor of STC Ford Maintenance & Light Repair (MLR) Certification Program. "The Ford MLR program prepares the students with quality instruction. We assure that when they complete the certification degree they have the skills needed to enter the automotive industry to meet and exceed the expectations and duties of their jobs." |

In addition to receiving quality instruction, students entering the Ford MLR Certification program are placed in sponsoring automotive dealerships throughout the Rio Grande Valley for hands-on training and possible job placement once they graduate. "Placing our students with qualified dealerships prepares them for the expectations of the job market they are about to enter," said Garcia. "It is an opportunity that they know can result in a full-time job once they graduate. We have placed many students with our sponsoring dealerships that have been offered a full-time position even before they graduate. This just shows us that we are on the right track. We are definitely preparing quality technicians." The STC Ford MLR program is supported by Boggus Ford in McAllen, Mid-Valley Ford Mercedes, Weslaco Ford, Van Burkleo Lincoln Mercury in McAllen, Spikes Ford in Mission, Ramirez Ford in Rio Grande City, and Rodriquez Ford in Raymondville. The Ford MLR Certification program is a one-year program developed by STC in partnership with the Ford Motor Company.
