Nursing & Allied Health Division
Mission Statement
The mission of the Nursing / Allied Health (NAH) division is to prepare graduates to be safe health care practitioners in their chosen field. The faculty is committed to providing comprehensive educational programs in conjunction with area health service providers to yield graduates with the knowledge, skills, confidence and professional integrity to become outstanding practitioners who will be an asset to their profession. The NAH division will promote partnering with local health care providers for external learning experiences to provide close linkages with the community in order to meet the unique needs of a multi-cultural environment.
(1) Rigorous, high quality educational programs leading to the Associate of Applied Science or Certificate of Completion in health occupation fields;
(2) Student Centered programs that reflect changes in the body of knowledge in the health professions as well as in technology and economy;
(3) Goal-directed and mutually interactive learning experiences between faculty and students;
(4) Academically and technically challenging educational programs which facilitate the development of competent professionals with critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
(5) Program curriculums organized around learning experiences that address the needs of a diverse community of clients; and,
(6) Programs that articulate with other programs of higher learning.
