Notice to All Jag Card Subscribers

The STC Business Office wishes to inform you of the current transition between payment programs.  This transition will affect all STC Jag Card/Chase debit card participants only.

  • We will stop funding disbursements to all Chase branded Jag Cards starting May 1st, 2008.
  • Any future disbursements, starting May 1st, 2008, made by STC, will be issued via the default payment method, a mailed paper check.
  • If you have a credit balance on your card you can continue to use your card and spend down your funds to zero out your account.  A check may be requested for the credit balance on your account by contacting Chase for a $12.00 fee.  Read additional information below.
  • All card holders should notify or update any third party payment arrangements setup with the card.

STC will still continue to offer payments via direct deposit for payroll disbursements and student refunds.  Direct deposit for travel and mileage reimbursements will NOT be available.

To enroll in these payment methods employees should visit the Human Resources department and submit a direct deposit form.  Students may request and submit direct deposit forms at the Cashiers Office.   If you chose not to enroll, a paper check will be mailed to you at the address you’ve specified at Human Resources for payroll and the Office of Admissions for students.  Please visit these departments to update your address information to ensure proper check delivery.

Currently, we are in the process of selecting another payment service which will give students and employees multiple disbursement options and provide better ways to manage all types of disbursements.   Be on the lookout for this exciting new service this Fall.

For credit balances less than $20.00 you have two options

Split purchase – When your purchase exceeds the credit balance on your card, request cashier to split the purchase and charge your card the amount equal to your credit balance.  Pay the difference with cash or another card.

Cash Back Option – When your purchase is less than your credit balance, request cashier to choose debit with cash back option.  When prompted for an amount, select other and enter an amount equal to your credit balance on the card minus purchase.  The entire purchase should equal to the balance on your card.  This purchase will zero out the card.
