GPA
stands for Grade Point Average. This is a calculation used
at South Texas College as well as other colleges and universities
to assess your overall academic performance.
The
GPA Calculator makes it fast and easy to calculate your estimated
GPA for the semester or cumulative GPA for what you have earned.
Instructions
for calculating your GPA are listed below the Calculator.

1.
To calculate your semester GPA:
- Get
a list of your courses for this semester (eg. MATH0080,
ENGL1301).
- Put
the second digit of the course numbers for each of the courses
(eg. MATH1414 has four credit hours ) in the first column
of boxes labeled "# of Credit Hours". Keep in
mind that all development courses are worth 3 credits hours
(eg. MATH0090, READ0080, ENGL0071).
- In
the "Letter Grade" column, put the actual or anticipated
grade (A,B,C,D,F) for each course.
- Click
"Compute" on the bottom to get your GPA for the
semester.

To calculate your cumulative GPA:
- Leave
the values for the current semester alone and
go to the cumulative GPA section".
- Enter
the # of credit hours your cumulative GPA represents and
put that number in the QHRS box.
- Next,
enter your cumulative GPA prior to the current semester
in the GPA. Click Compute.
- This
will give you your current cumulative GPA in the bottom
box.
