I was born and reared in McAllen, which
made me a third generation McAllenite and eighth generation Texan.
I have a B. A. in History and Political Science, an M. Ed. In Secondary
Education, and an Ed. D. in Supervision, Curriculum and Instruction.
I enjoy working in the field of education because of the inherent
linkage to the future.
My professional experience has been
primarily in the public school arena. I have been a High School teacher,
elementary school counselor, curriculum writer, Bilingual/ESL and
Title VII program director. In my fourth year as a developmental reading
instructor, an aspect of my work that I particularly enjoy is participation
in the Developmental Reading and History Learning Community. I look
forward to working with programs that facilitate instruction and student
learning. Education of young people can be a most enjoyable challenge.
