The Developmental Mathematics Department at South Texas College is dedicated to helping students acquire the necessary mathematical skills to meet TSI standards and to be successful in academic level mathematics courses.

The program consists of three courses:  Math 80 - Basic Mathematics, Math 85 - Introductory Algebra, and Math 90 - Intermediate Algebra.  Each course consists of 3 hours of lecture and 1 hour of lab.  Students spend one hour of class time a week in a computer lab working on online assignments or quizzes prepared by the instructor.  Students receive immediate feedback on the problems they are working on.  The software has customized study plans that each student can follow according to his or her needs.
