HUMA 1301 Introduction to Humanities (Western Civilization)

INTERESTS and HONORS:

Among my many interests are traveling, animal rescue and orchids.  My love of traveling has allowed me to live and to study in countries like: Costa Rica, Mexico and Spain.  As an educator I have had the privilege to teach both in secondary and college levels in Texas, as well as working as an administrator in Region One schools.  I am also a trainer for the Gateway Writers Project (University of St. Louis), have worked as a Support Director for Teach for America (NYC), and have served as the Southwest Coordinator for the Teacher's Choices and Children's Choices project of the International Reading Association.

Awards/Grants that I have been honored to receive include: winning three national teaching competitions sponsored by the Arts and Entertainment Television Network, and the Fulbright Borderlands grant which permitted me to do research on Mexican Cinema at the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City.
