HUMA 1301 Introduction to Humanities (Western Civilization) |
Among my many interests are traveling, animal rescue and orchids. My
love of traveling has allowed me to live and to study in countries like: Costa
Rica, Mexico and Spain. As an educator I have had the privilege to teach
both in secondary and college levels in Texas, as well as working as an
administrator in Region One schools. I am also a trainer for the Gateway
Writers Project (University of St. Louis), have worked as a Support Director for
Teach for America (NYC), and have served as the Southwest Coordinator for the
Teacher's Choices and Children's Choices project of the International Reading
Association.
Awards/Grants that I have been honored to receive include: winning three
national teaching competitions sponsored by the Arts and Entertainment
Television Network, and the Fulbright Borderlands grant which permitted me to do
research on Mexican Cinema at the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City.
